Joining WMCC

Welcome to the Wellington Masters Cycling Club (WMCC).

Our motto is "Serious Fun On Your Bike".

Our values revolve around being "Fun, Safe, Social,Affordable, Friendly, Healthy, Competitive,Inclusive and Rewarding."

Our goal is to provide the "The best social riding and race calendar in the region for masters aged riders of all ability. 

WMCC Membership

  • Wellington Masters club membership is only open to Masters age riders (men 35+ and women 30+ as at 31 December 2026)
  • Club Membership year runs from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2026.
  • Ordinary membership costs $100 and entitles you to free entry to all club races and financial support at Age Group Club Road Nationals*.
  • Existing members must pay membership fees for the current year by October 30 to retain continuous club membership. If membership isn't renewed by this date a visitor race fee of $40 is payable until membership is renewed.
  • Club membership will be finalised once members have selected a volunteer duty through Dutyman.
  • All members are required to sign up to volunteer at two club races during the membership year. Volunteer Info Here
  • WMCC members are covered within club races by the club's own public liability insurance policy. 
  • WMCC is affiliated to Cycling NZ. Club members do not need to a Cycling NZ licence to ride in our club races. But if you intend to ride in the Wellington Centre Champs or national events, you will also need an Cycling NZ national licence.

* Financial support to Age Group Road Nationals is subject to members fulfilling their volunteer obligations and that members will be representing WMCC including wearing WMCC approved cycling strip.

Membership Sign Up - 2025/26

  1. Start by downloading and printing the Membership Application Form
  2. Complete and return the form and pay the $100 subscription fee to the Club's bank account (see details on the form).
  3. You also need to register with Cycling New Zealand (CNZ) and purchase a 2026 Sport Membership when they are available (expected to be November 2025). For further information, go to Cycling NZ Membership page.
  4. Log in if you’re already registered with CNZ. If not, you’ll need to register first.
  5. Purchase a 2025 Sport Membership ($22.50) and any other licences you need for the level you are riding (e.g: national licence).
    NB: If you are only going to participate in our club races, you only need a Sport Membership.
  6. Once you’ve selected your licence(s), the system will take you to a page to choose club details. Enter Wellington Masters and you will then be given three membership options:
    1. Ordinary Member (Male or Female) $100.
    2. Life Member.
    3. Committee Member.
  7. Select the appropriate option and the system will take you to payments, where you'll pay for the CNZ Membership you selected as well as the Wellington Masters Membership.
  8. Once paid you'll receive email confirmations, including a receipt.

NB: It is a condition of joining that all members complete two volunteer duties per season. We use DutyMan to manage this. New members should receive a DutyMan login id and password from the club secretary within a few days of registering.  

Membership Renewal - 2025/26

  1. The process has changed for this season to ensure that we comply with the updated Incorporated Societies Act.
  2. Start by downloading and printing the Membership Renewal Form.
  3. Complete and return the form and pay the $100 subscription fee to the Club's bank account (see details on the form) 
  4. You should already hold a Cycling New Zealand (CNZ) 2025 Sport Membership and you will need to renew this for 2026. The renewal process is expected to start in November and CNZ should contact you directly about this.
  5. Once you’ve selected your licence(s), the CNZ system will take you to a page to choose club details. Enter Wellington Masters and you will then be given three membership options:
    1. Ordinary Member (Male or Female) 
    2. Life Member.
    3. Committee Member.
  6. Select the appropriate option and the system will take you to payments, where you'll pay for the CNZ Membership you selected.
